The first recorded Vicar was one Dominus Martin in 1250.

The present Priest in Charge of Manuden and the neighbouring parish of Berden is Canon Chris Bishop. He is also Industrial Chaplain at Stansted Airport and Rural Dean of Newport and Stansted Deanery.

The Churchwardens are Mr Keith McKee and Mr Ken Pratley.

The PCC Secretary is Mrs Sarah Jones and the PCC Treasurer is Mr Gareth Davies.

Service Times at St Marys:

First Sunday in the month : 11 am Family Service. 6.30 pm Evensong.
Second Sunday : 11 am Holy Communion, following the Book of Common Prayer.
Third Sunday : 9.30 am Holy Communion following the ASB, soon to be replaced by the new Common Worship Holy Communion.
Fourth Sunday : 9.30 am Matins.

The church is always open during daylight hours for private prayer and visitors, and is well known for its warm welcome and rich array of colourful kneelers.
